Project: Proclo - Log #023

Pressure’s off!

I’m deciding to go screw it and put off the rule that I have to stick to the chapter that I’m working on before working on anything else. I feel like it’ll help me to get the scripts done faster if I get down my script ideas and stuff for future scenes on paper ASAP.

Starting that definitely helped get rid of the whole feeling of restriction, which was making writing a bit less enjoyable at the time, and I’m feeling pretty great.

I just hope it doesn’t unlock any bad habits or anything, like working on so many chapters at once that I’m not getting a single one done. But hopefully, to prevent that, I’ll still work mainly on my current chapter and keep that a priority.

Project: Proclo - Log #022

Another possible name change?!

I’ll be honest, even after the most recent name-change before this one, I’ve still never really felt proud of how the title and the name of the machine sounded.

I’m thinking about moving the name of the word featured in the title, and the name of the important thing in the story from “clonerion” to “proclo” because it sounds a little more “made up” than before, and plus, it’s got less syllables. There’s the advantage of the alliteration in the title for memorability points, if I make that name change, too.

I don’t exactly know if I want to change this blog’s URL and every other URL containing “clonerion,” though. That’s why I’ve been struggling, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to make that extra effort. (It’s going to be a lot of links to update, though…)

Notitle2 - Log #001

Thinking about a concept for a new project...
Back when I was age 12-15, I watched and enjoyed these comedies about a bunch of middle/high-schoolers just screwing around and going through these totally bizarre situations. Only problem is, sometimes they’d end up doing 18+ stuff and I don’t wanna really consume that sorta content because that’s just weird (especially since i’m 18+ now).

For a while, I wanted there to be something that exists that has the same comedic energy as those shows I watched and I’ve been too lazy to find something of that description. So now, i’m tryna create a group of characters that’ll go through similar sorta scenarios, but instead of middle/highschoolers, they’re gonna be fresh college kids (18-19)!

I'm a bit too lazy to come up with totally new character designs, so I'll be taking some major influence from a few old character designs that I've come up with, already.

No Adult Supervisioin! - Log #009

Still working on a better title, but I’ll stick with what I’ve got for now

For a bit of a while now, I’ve been trying to think up a stronger title than “No Adult Supervision!” Yeah, it’s straight to the point and describes the entire premise of the series in three words, but man, that’s a lot of syllables.

Usually stronger titles will go for, at most, 5. And some will be intentionally long/full of syllables, like titles that are a phrase or a sentence.

I’m hoping to come up with one quickly, because I don’t want a weird title-change like 10+ pages, or even 5+ pages into the series.

No Adult Supervision! - Log #008

NAS! is available to read on ComicFury

I just wanted to experiment with its layout, and it’s pretty cool.  My favourite feature so far is how you can add an extra punchline or joke or something when you hover your mouse over the image!

Latest CF entry:

I've already gotten started with this project, so I'm just gonna bulk upload what I've got so far. This is still a new project, and my first (at least, in a long time), so I dunno the upload schedule, yet. That's all I wanna say, really.

Project: Clonerion - Log #021

I’m writing my first bits of proper action now, I think

I’ve just finished the latest drafts up until the end of the 3rd part of the story which means I’ve already done pretty much my first action scene. Now, I’m up to the 4th part which is the one right behind where I’m up to. Also, I’m pretty close to writing up my first proper fight scene. Pretty hyped!

I’ve also been rewatching Red Dwarf recently, and I’ve been taking some inspiration from the sci-fi elements of the series, such as the aesthetics, technology, and some of the comedy, too.

No Adult Supervision! - Log #007

And NOW I actually return!

Now that my holidays have started, I can finally dedicate my time to this series! I’ll pick up the pace from now on (or at least up until my holidays end…)

Project: Clonerion - Log #020

A whole lotta editing…

Recently, all I’ve been doing lately’s been editing about all the scripts I’ve written so that they all are (what I find to be) interesting and suit the direction that I’m taking the story. All the completed scripts are now going into Google docs. Also, I’m actually getting started on the “thumbs without concept art” project! It’s turning out pretty good, although I haven’t done that much on it, haha…

Plus, I’ve been starting to work on some location concept art which is turning out pretty okay already. At the moment, I’m only doing the basics for the locations though, because I’m they’re my first time and I’m not that great at it. I’m actually kinda hyped to see what my background art looks like in the future because the way I imagined Pro:Clo’s backgrounds are pretty retro-ish sci-fi (obviously)!

Project: Clonerion - Log #019

I have not forgotten to log my progress!

I know it’s been a good two weeks but I am not dead! Nor am I not making any progress whatsoever on this project. (Although, uni’s hindering the progress a little…)

Anyways, with that aside,  I’ve got a couple updates to get out. First off, I’ve finally completed writing the script for the prologue! With that, I can finally get started on that “thumbnails without concept art” project.

I’m also planning on starting on trying to draw up concept art of the locations pretty soon, now. I’ve already noted down my ideas on the types of feels that I want the locations to be like, plus the imagery and stuff, as well.

I feel like I want to change up the latest chapter that I’m working on, too. I honestly feel like it could be better because it’s currently a bit similar to the previous scene. I feel like it could focus more on a non-physical/emotional(?) arc because we’ve had a lot of focus on the main goal lately, and I kinda want to draw less attention on that for this bit and give the audience some breathing room.

That’s it, really!
